Look #54- Gypsy Life

Yesterday the sun was shining and I finally had a day free to enjoy it! I spent the morning at the gym before popping to the shops with MummaH. Then in the afternoon I went for a small bite to eat and one too many drinks with two close friends which was a proper laugh.

Although the sun was out, the wind was still quite chilly so my outfit had to cater for that. I also had to rock the headscarf again as I am currently growing out my fringe and it is at the horribly awkward mid length stage! I think it works well to brighten up otherwise quite simple outfits.

Look #53 - I'm ready for my interview

Hi everyone, sorry I have been away for so long! Work has taken over recently and in between that, the gym and seeing my friends and boyfriend have filled up all the gaps. I have also been busy applying for internships to help build up my CV.

Today after Zumba I traveled up to London for an interview with MOTIV, a fashion distribution company. Just entering the building and seeing the rails of clothes made my heart race and made me realise just how much I wanted the internship. I find out next week so fingers crossed!! Here is what I wore (I'm hoping it did the trick!)

Look #52 - Monochrome Monday

After an amazing time away in Amsterdam at the end of January, I have been working non stop to earn money for my next few days away (this time visiting my uni friends in Southampton and my boyfriend in Portsmouth). Because I have been working so much, the opportunity to wear anything other than leggings and a shirt has barely come up, until Monday on my day off. After my weekly Zumba class in the morning, I headed home to get ready for an afternoon in London with both of my parents as we went to visit my cousin and his partner.

When heading to London I always feel I can be a little more adventurous with outfit choices (although really I should feel adventurous anywhere!) and so I mixed and matched some of my latest charity shop finds to create this monochrome (always a winner) look. The one mistake I did make was not taking a proper coat, as it really isn't warm enough in the UK yet for just a blazer. The price we pay for fashion ay?

Look #51 - Lace and Florals

Today I made the most of a Saturday afternoon off. I went to town with MummaH to buy a few bits, including some new underwear and face painting kits so I can start practicing and putting a portfolio together for the makeup course I want to get onto in September!

Afterwards I treated MummaH to lunch and we had a good gossip. Such a lovely way to spend an afternoon before heading off to work. It also gave me the opportunity to road test an outfit that I might take/ wear to Amsterdam next week. I love this outfit and I think it is a must for 'Dam but with a small black boot heel rather than flat Doc Marten's next time I think to add a spot of sophistication (ha, who am I kidding!). Here is what I wore...

Look #50 - New beginnings

Last Friday I got a new car. I have been waiting years to drive again and now I have this car, I have my independence back and it feels incredible! It means my parents no longer have to be my taxi driver, I can come and go as I please and getting too and from festivals this summer will be a hell of a lot easier! A massive thank you is in order to PappaH for being insanely generous and paying for the car for me. I then paid for the insurance out of my savings.

I went to pick up my car with PappaH on the Friday afternoon and as this would be my first time driving in way over a year or two I wanted to be comfortable and of course, wearing sensible shoes! The drive went way better than expected, although I did stall once or twice to begin with as I was a little rusty. Here is what I wore for my latest taste of freedom...

Jacket: Camden Market, London, £20
Belt: Thrifted, £2

Look #49 - 50's Throwback

Hi guys, sorry it's been a while!! The end of December and beginning of January has been a hectic few weeks for me so I apologise for being so slack on the blogging front! I have been working, car hunting, spending precious time with my boyfriend before he heads back to university and frantically planning a trip to Amsterdam with my two best friends (which is happening in less than 2 weeks and I am waaaay too excited!)

On one lovely afternoon out with my boyfriend a few weeks back (before he escaped) we went for a delicious lunch at Wagamama's (fast becoming my favourite resturant) and I was desperate to wear some of my new Christmas treats. This floral dress is going to be perfect for the transitional weather months between winter and spring, all that needs to be done is a quick accessory change. Keeping with the vintage feel of this floral dress I added to my outfit with a faux fur sole, vintage bag and large shades and hat in muted colours. Oh and the shoes were free from my Auntie as a mini Christmas present, having only been worn once. Got to love a freebee!! Take a peak...

Hat: H& M (online), £12
Dress: TXMax, £14.99
Socks: Topshop, 3 pairs for £8
Cardigan: Thrifted, £4.99
Faux Fur Stole: Ebay, £6.32
Bag (vintage): Mum's
Sunglasses: Ebay, £2.39

Look #48 - Walking (drunk) in a Winter Wonderland

Thursday (19th Dec) was one of my favourite days in 2013. I spent it with my two best friends in the entire world (shout out to Elly and Lizzy, woooo) at the amazing Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London. We started the day by drinking wine on the train up to London (classy) and finished drunkenly necking cocktails in a club in Camden around 12 hours afterwards.

In-between all this there was santa hats, fun fair rides, befriending waiters, crazy singing and dancing, lots of eating, even more laughing and a hell of a lot more drinking. I think the three of us combined had more fun that day than the whole of London and I wouldn't have change any small part of it for the world. Obviously for this day of drunken antics, we had to keep warm and comfortable whilst still looking good. I opted for my tartan leggings (oh so comfortable and also on trend) and a large wax jacket (very warm). We were blessed with sun until the late hours of the day so sun glasses were needed for half of it and a backpack ensured I had both my hands free for important things like drinking mulled wine. Priorities!
